Technology
Oracle Corporation has validated its latest database engine Oracle 9i for the Linux (Suse) platform, Microsoft's Windows XP Operating system is receiving mixed reviews from industry and critics. XML continues to gain strength as a reliable and efficient specification for describing interfaces between enterprises, and also for marrying HTML with data, using XSLT.

Country
Nigeria's greying, Green Eagles, managed a third position in the recently concluded African Nations cup in Bamako, Mali. This despite a lackadaisical, and dispirited performance, in which the likes of Kanu and Okocha spent much of their time loitering without intent. It is clear that either the manager Amodu and/or the players will need to be changed, in addition to the tactics, for Nigeria to avoid disgrace in the upcoming World Cup in Japan/Korea this May/June. GOD help us!

Nigerians continue in mourning the untimely death of the Attorney General of the country, Chief Bola Ige, who was assassinated in Ibadan on the 23rd of December 2001. May the Lord rest his soul in perfect peace. Amen.
In the meantime, it is high time the Obasanjo government got serious about finding the perpetrators of this heinous crime, for surely, if these criminals are left unapprehended, all others ministers and even the president may not be truly safe.
